Important Change to U.S. Savings Bonds
Beginning on December 31, 2011, the US Treasury is changing how U.S. Savings Bonds are purchased. Financial institutions will no longer be able to sell savings bonds. They are only available for purchase as electronic savings bonds through TreasuryDirect.
Already have paper savings bonds?
If you currently hold paper savings bonds do not worry. Existing paper bonds are still valid and will continue to earn interest for 30 years from the issue date or until redeemed. You may continue to redeem paper savings bonds at Bank of New Hampshire.
